I fell at Cindy's on July 28 and fractured my shoulder joint, including the osteophyte. The x-rays showed that I HAD a mushroom-shaped osteophyte/bone spur coming out of the joint. I was waking up every night at 3 a.m. because of the pain. I was so sure that I would have the shoulder pain for the rest of my life! I started getting acupuncture from Dove to relieve the pain. By late Oct., the pain has stopped. I took the x-rays again in Nov. My doctor at Kaiser told me that he could barely see the osteophyte. "Looks like your body is absorbing the bone spur. I don't know why you have no more pain. I've never seen anything like this before. You have severe arthritis." I spent years dealing with depression and pain. I tried a chiropractor and medicine but found neither of these to be of any help. A friend suggested acupuncture. I looked online to find an acupuncturist and found the Union Valley Wellness Center. I made an appointment and went in not really knowing what to expect. Dove was really kind and helpful from the start. I explained my problems and Dove explained how we would proceed. I started with more frequent visits and noticed my problems lessening after a few sessions. Dove showed me different stretches and things I could do between visits to keep things moving forward. As things were getting better my visits became more spaced out. My last few visits were about a month apart and now I will only visit as needed because I am feeling so much better. Having gone to four different Acupuncturists over the years, my fifth and final Acupuncturist is Dove Yu. I have been seeing her since April. Her medical background blended with the Eastern is a nice mix. She took a lot of medical history & each appointment is updated with any new results and then she'll advise on things to help tackle issues. I have many medical issues, diabetes, high blood pressure, stress & digestive problem. Since I have been seeing Dove, my blood pressure & blood sugar have come down, and my stress is easing up. I cannot say enough about her practice, her approach, her persona and the on going positive results. In addition to being needled, she also uses Tui Na Massage which is vigorous. She has used this on my neck because of headaches that I started having from the base of my neck to the top of my head. Again great results. She also uses acupressure patches for certain points in the ears to help between appointments. I am a teacher who stands all day as well as a fitness freak who has exercised every day for 20 years. Over the years, I have experienced much soreness and some injuries. Recently, I have had lower back pain so severe that it was difficult to stand up or change positions. My health insurance covers acupuncture, so I decided to give it a try. I found Dove just by chance because she is local. She was accommodating to my schedule and took care of the insurance paperwork. Dove has a kind and gentle way about her. I can’t help to share this wonderful acupuncture experience with my dear acupuncturist Dove Yu, L.Ac. I accidentally twisted my neck last month and wasn't able to turn my neck without excruciating pain. I went to Dove’s clinic in Daly City. She amazingly fixed my neck with just a few needles! I originally visited Dove Yu due to TMJ. I experienced constant TMJ, neck and shoulder pain. She was proactive in my treatment which alleviated my discomfort and headaches. She also helped me with other issues such as sinus allergies, hot flashes, weight loss, and plantar fasciitis. My energy level also increased. My experience with Dove is very positive one.
